LOR is a creation myth. Creation myths to me are poetry about our beginnings. With no real credible witnesses of how life actually came about, we conjure up these stories of creation. Often we imbue our own image and likeness onto the many indescribable forces that design and build our universe. What else are we gonna do with all that gray matter… sit it in front of a TV and let it rot, hell no.
Let us once again superimpose our image over the forces of creation. If we are made in God's image, and we'll suppose God looks like… ya know… like an old man, but with no sex organs cause he doesn't really need them, so he might as well be a woman, but he still looks like an old man. Whatever.
Let's hang out with the creator of all life on earth, and watch him do his thing.
The story goes like this. At first came the plants, moss and trees. This was easy for him and his ever stretching intellect. A few fractal instructions in the DNA and there you have it, a tree grows up and stretches out for sun and water. Done.
Sure is quiet, how about some fish, cows and birds. This task will take a bit of design work and pre-production. While he works on the fleshy tissue and bone making instructions, prototypes for the over all forms of these living creatures will be built of metal and run through rigorous tests. A balance must be found to keep all creations living. Enter robot animal prototypes, and lots of them; robot birds, robot bugs, cats and fish etc… Each prototype will have it's own purpose and personality, just to see if it all is going to work out.
Now then, one more creature to keep our scientist company. A creature that looks a little like his creator. Hands that pick junk up, head way up on top… walks upright, thinks about stuff, you get the picture. The making of a prototype will also be necessary here as well. The scientist works hard on this metal man and is so proud of his design that he puts him in charge of the other robots. All is good.
Now, if the big plan is to eventually replace all these metal contraptions with new versions made of flesh and bone, what's gonna happen if these robots don't want to stop living.
    That's the story, now what?
